Great sounding depression era Hawaiian guitar.
I glued some loose braces, re-glued the bridge, fit it with a new Ebony nut, and put on a new set of Butterbean style tuners. Please look at the pictures and watch the video.
There is a gap at the heel, because these blocks are made out of Poplar wich is softer than mahogany or maple that is typically used on nicer guitars. so the block/shoulder curl a little bit under string tension overtime. This happens on all of the catalog guitars that have poplar blocks which is pretty much all of them. The joint is still glued tight and does not move. since it’s played slide there’s no reason to pull the neck and refit it To the curved shoulder.
Will be packed safely with the strings loosened .
