About This Listing

This gorgeous 1966 Mosrite Ventures 2 with scalloped body is truly splendid. It plays like a dream, has VERY few dings for its age, and has not been modified in any way, other than a new pick up selector switch and a new handle on the OHSC.

If you've never played one you should know that they were made for a very specific style of playing. The frets are flatter than most. They are made for getting from chord to chord quickly and for playing melodic phrases rather than blues or rock lead playing with lots of bending. Think Johnny Ramone and Surf Music - that's this guitar's forte. I used it for rhythm tracks that needed to shine because its tone is gorgeous and stands out in even dense mixes with no effects or compression needed.

The sound of this guitar is incredible. It cuts through mixes like butter. I've played quite a few Mosrites, and this one is truly special. Whomever buys this is going to be exceedingly happy with their purchase!

Product Overview
Released as the result of a collaboration between Mosrite and surf-rock group The Ventures, the Mosrite Ventures electric guitar was a short-lived, funky child of the '60s. High-gain pickups and a super slim neck, as well as a unique tremolo system, characterize the Ventures, and although the Ventures was reborn in various forms throughout Mosrite's existence, the models from the 1960s are considered the most collectible.
