Here's a 1958 Gibson Super 400-C in Blonde finish. The guitar was owned by Rick Derringer from 1966 to 2005! Rick is famous for writing the #1 hit "Hang On Sloopy," while with his then band The McCoys. He used the money from his first royalty check to purchase the guitar. Rick is also famous for his work with brothers Johnny & Edgar Winter, along with Steely Dan, Cyndi Lauper and "Weird Al" Yankovic (to name a few). The guitar comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Rick. He also signed the pickguard!

Putting Rick's provenance to the side, the guitar itself is a spectacular playing and sounding single cutaway Super 400, built in one of the great years in Gibson's history!! No breaks, cracks, repairs. It features a solid carved spruce top, gorgeous highly figured solid maple back and sides, solid tiger flame maple neck, ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl block fingerboard and peghead inlay, with 5-ply body, neck, head and pickguard binding. The body measures 18" with a 25 1/2" scale length. Playability and tone are exceptional!! Full feeling C neck profile, with low action down the neck. The original frets are in good shape. Plenty of room in the bridge for future adjustments. The guitar is full and wonderfully balanced in tone, with beautiful clarity. Sounds amazing! The guitar comes with its original brown/pink liner hardshell case, along with the COA signed by Rick.
