About This Listing

Nice Guitars and Amps at a Nice Price Presents Awesome

Vintage Ibanez Studio ST100 Japan by FujiGen craftsmanship with V-2 Pickups. This solid body guitar was manufactured during the JV (Japanese Vintage 1978-1983) era when Japan was putting out hi-quality guitars and basses surpassing Fender/Gibson.

The headstock appears to have an old repair. I included some closeup pictures of it. It looks like it my have been a crack and not a complete break because it doesn't show any crack on the face of the headstock. I wonder if the B at the beginning of the serial number means factory second? At any rate it doesn't affect the playability. The neck is solid, Keep in mind it was built when Ibanez was trying to compete with the big names. It’s solid wood with lots of details. They just don’t build guitars like this anymore. It wouldn’t be cost-effective for today’s market. This was something they did back in the day. Even the pickups are bad ass.

ST100 (1979)

The ST100 is a Studio series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1978 and was only available for 2 years (1978 and 1979). It was made in Japan by FujiGen.

The ST100 features a double-cutaway body composed of a maple center block and mahogany outer blocks with thin strips of walnut between them. This body is mated to a set-in laminated maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez V2 humbucking pickups with exposed cream bobbins mounted in cream pickup rings with individual volume and tone controls, a Tune-o-matic style Gibraltar fixed bridge with Quik Change tailpiece and VelveTune II machine heads.
