About This Listing

This 2007 Epiphone Elitist Byrdland is a vintage-inspired archtop, with a fabled history. The result of a collaboration between Gibson, Billy Byrd & Hank Garland, this model derives it's name from a combination of Byrd and Garland - merging to form Byrdland. Taking it's inspiration from the popular L-5CES, the Byrdland however sports a thin, 2 1/4" deep body along with a shorter 23 1/2" scale length, making it one of the most comfortable 17" archtops out there.

This particular guitar was crafted in the famed Terada, Japan factory as part of the Epiphone Elitist series and sports a combination of quality tonewoods, Japanese craftsmanship and USA-made components. The original Epiphone branded, Gibson USA-Made pickups are present, which are 50s-inspired, wax potted humbuckers with 24K gold-plated covers.

Thanks to a Mass Street setup this 2007 Byrdland plays great with low-action, nominal fretwear and flatwound strings. Here in excellent condition, with minor finish wear, and very minor tarnishing to the plated finish on the tailpiece (see photos). Includes the original hardshell Epiphone Elitist case.
