Here is an old Japanese Audition brand guitar that I think is from the 1960's. Most Audition guitars I see are simple solid body electrics but this is a thinline archtop with THREE pickups and a bound body so it must have been one of their better offerings. It's finished in red sunburst and aside from changed tuners it appears to be all original. It has some normal light marks from use and a few small finish chips here and there but no cracks or repairs. This guitar plays good, however the only thing to point out is that some of the notes around the last 4 frets on the guitar either buzz or don't play at all. This could be fixed by a simple setup but I don't work on guitars. These frets are hardly played so it bothered me. All pickups work and sound good. I should point out that the design of the guitar makes the bridge pickup further from the strings and therefore less loud but it works and adds to the tonal range. The guitar comes with the original hardshell case believe it or not. It has some peeled back tolex and one snapped off latch but it still does the job and it's good to have. This was likely an inexpensive guitar back in the day so don't expect it to play and sound like a modern archtop electric of course. But if you're into old bizarre imports like this you won't want to pass it up. This will be packaged well for shipping. This guitar is being sold as is according to the description above.
