Maag EQ2-500

The MÄAG AUDIO EQ2-500 is a 2-band equalizer module designed to seamlessly integrate into a single slot of the popular 500VPR series racks. Drawing inspiration and features from the acclaimed EQ4M standalone equalizer, the EQ2-500 prioritizes minimum phase shift, maximum headroom, transparency, and easy recallable settings through detent controls, reflecting the core design philosophies of MÄAG AUDIO products.

• 500 Series Compatibility: Designed to fit into a single slot of the 500VPR series racks, the EQ2-500 offers a compact and efficient solution for precise tone shaping.
• Incorporates EQ4M Design Principles: Borrowing features and design philosophies from the EQ4M standalone equalizer, the EQ2-500 prioritizes transparency, maximum headroom, and easy recallable settings.
• Input Attenuator: The front panel features an input attenuator with 0 dB at full CW and up to -12 dB when fully CCW, aiding in proper gain-staging of a recording chain when connected to a microphone preamp's output.
• Signal Monitoring: A green Signal Present LED indicates signal reaching and exceeding a -20 dBu level, while a red Peak LED flashes when the output signal is at or near clip or +23 dBu.
• Low Mid Frequency (LMF) Section:
• Provides bell-shaped, peaking equalization with switchable Q.
• Sharp, surgical-like peak/dip position and a broader or wider shape position for versatile use.
• Two sets of available frequencies for sharp Q (in red) and broader Q (in white).
• LMF Frequency Ranges (Sharp Q - Red): 40 Hz, 65 Hz, 150 Hz, 250 Hz, 1 kHz.
• LMF Frequency Ranges (Broader Q - White): Sub (10 Hz), 57 Hz, 88 Hz, 220 Hz, 400 Hz, 1.4 kHz.
• Air Band Section:
• Gain control for up to 20 dB of shelving boost.
• Air Band In/Out switch for quick comparison and assessment of the air band effect.
• Frequencies: 2.5 kHz, 5 kHz, 10 kHz, 15 kHz, 20 kHz, and 40 kHz.
