The MGS64 is part of a collection of sound expansion, basically with the same hardware but different soundset: 
- Roland Mbd1 BASS DRUM - Drum sounds and Bass
-Roland Mdc1 DANCE - pads, synth loops and sample 
-Roland Mse1 STRINGS - orchestral strings 
-Roland Mvs1 VINTAGE - analog synths from the past

Sound and effectsSOUND 16 bits microcontroller HF6415108F (part of HD6415 / h8 family) manages 64voices polyphony at 18-bit @ 32 kHz (it's a rompler unit) and up to 32 multitimbric parts divided in 2x16 (midi limits of course).
 Internal rom contains 654 sounds + 24 drum kits containing also special SC-55 setup map for retrocompatibility. It is possible to edit some basic parameters such as envelope or filter using the main panel with cryptics number...  and then saving to one of the 256 slots available in the RAM section (backuped with a soldered CR2032). 

EFFECT digital section features: Reverb (8 types)  + Chorus (8 types)   + Delay (10 types)  and a final simple 2-Band Equalizer.Roland M-GS64 Technical Specifications
