In no rush to sell. I’m well over 6k into this stupid amp rig now! This is a beautiful example of a bassman with original parts except the capacitors (And tubes of course). I am also including an original 1963 Fender speaker cable that came with it new! This should always stay with this head. OT dates third week of 1967, the rest 1963 original.

The speaker cabinet is new Fender authorized Mojotone cabinet with vintage 12” Jensens and vintage original 1960’s chrome side stands, professionally installed. Swivels to tilt up for live gigs and rehearsals. They look super sexy and are a real head turner. Works perfectly, like new.

Breaks up wonderfully and is LOUD … like insanely loud. Peel the paint and then knock the wall down loud.

AMP HISTORY:

It had a couple caps changed by Austin Texas amp guru Bill Webb in 2022, then retubed and properly grounded in 2023 and then after it suddenly died it was revived AGAIN by JML Studios. Then a cap started to fail a year later and the legendary Andy Fuschs of Fuchs Audio in Clifton NJ did a full overhaul on it feb 2024 for another $550. Basic amp maintenance from Fuchs included replacing failed caps (shown in plastic bag in pics). The work was done by Mr. Fuchs himself at the factory too. As Andy Fuschs puts it, Capacitors are like the original tires on a vintage collectible car. They were not designed to last more than 20 years and if you’re still driving on them, you’re going to wreck it (And then immediately fry the transformer!). This is a player amp, not a collectible amp that is dangerous to play in 2026. There’s not a single 60’s Amp out there that sounds any good with its original capacitors in it and if they’re telling you it does they are lying. Electrolytic capacitors heat up and cool down over and over, everytime you use it. This causes end of life failure. Even unused electrolytic capacitors dry out and need replacing by now. They expand and contract like any other metal. This causes the capacitor to leak overtime and become out of spec which will allow too much electricity through the circuit and end up blowing your precious transformer (where the true value of the amp lies). The amp does not sound as good with old out of spec capacitors and you can damage other parts. 1960’s caps were not designed to last more than 2 decades so “original” caps is a BAD THING folks. Don’t believe the hype. Having said all that, this amp sounds like it did in 1963 now and is arguably the greatest guitar amp ever made!

Fun fact, did you know Marshall stole this designs and did a 1:1 clone of this exact make model and year to make their first ever guitar amp in ‘63 That made them famous? This is the one they cloned!
