Buffet Crampon Silver R13 Bb Clarinet--Ferree's Cork Overhaul, Gorgeous!

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale. This is a Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet in silver plate.  It is in excellent condition:  wood is an excellent, heavy, vintage billet of grenadilla with a nice, straight grain and unusually square tenons with no wobble between joints.  If you look very closely, you can see a couple of very small marks which probably indicate a pinned crack in the upper joint near the trills, but this was done so long ago and so beautifully that the prior owner never new it had been done.  Silver plated rather than nickel (a $440 upgrade) about 99.9% intact with little if any wear at all.  Just through the shop where it was bore oiled and had all new pads installed in a combination of Ferree’s B17 de’Jur double-bladder, pressed felt, and Ferree’s premium cork. I did notice when photographing it that we forgot to put a thumb rest cork on it, so we’ll do that before shipping.  Plays very nicely across all registers—a full, big-bodied clarinet with a warm tone and nice, crisp feel to the action.  Includes a Vandoren 5RV mouthpiece, Buffet ligature, and Buffet cap. Comes in the slim pochette case with a zippered case cover.  S/n 282XXX makes this a 1986, a very nice period in Buffet history.  Sells new for $4,493.26, so save more than $2,700, and snatch up one of the nicest you'll find on the used market!
