About This Listing

2002 Gibson ES-335 Dot Sunburst Nashville Made ES335 Semi Hollow Guitar

Nashville made and drop dead gorgeous, this 2002 Gibson ES-335 is finished in sunburst and has a stunning flamed top and back. Over the last 22 years the hardware has taken on a nice patina, giving it a real Historic look. The body has taken on a wonderful patina with a few nicks and scratches all round and a wonderful 'played in' feel to its slim 60s shaped neck.

It's very resonant (as most of these early 2000s examples are) and sounds fantastic plugged in to any amp. It comes with it's original hard case too. A step above anything currently made in Memphis, these old Nashville 335s are unbelievable value for money.

£2895 - Price includes shipping anywhere in the U.K. Discounts available for payment on collection. This price is directly via Vibrocaster. Price on the listing reflects the selling fees and we are unable to accept offers via Reverb

Product Overview
The Gibson ES-335 Dot has been known by more than one name over the last three decades, but it's undoubtedly singular in its popularity as one of Gibson's most well-known reissues. First known as the ES-335 Dot, then renamed the ES-335 Reissue in the '90s, this instrument is based on the technical specs of its 1960s predecessor. While specimens from the early '80s may command a higher asking price, all ES-335 Reissues are built from a semi-hollow maple body with a rosewood fingerboard, two humbuckers, and come with the identifying dot inlays. Its popularity over the years has landed the ES-335 Dot Reissue in the hands of many a famous guitarist, like Dave Grohl and Eric Clapton.

The 1991 - 2014 era of Gibson USA ES-335s were available with either a plain or figured maple top. These models are identical other than the figured maple, and can be identified by their model codes: ESDP for plain top models, and ESDT for figured top models. The model codes can be found on the f-hole sticker or COA booklet depending on the year of production.
