Vintage Heathkit W4 AM Mono Tube power amp, excellent potted transformers, point to point wiring, 4,8,16 ohm speaker outputs, all vintage USA tubes. It is working and few key components have been replaced. It has the incomparable vintage Heathkit design, craftsmanship, parts quailty, attention to detail, fit finish, sound quality and performance. There was never a bottom cover. It is the early Gray Hammertone color with nice lettering and in good well cared for condition. It could be matched up with another W4 AM for a quality stereo set up, or it could be modified to be used as a tube guitar amp. It has an excellent tube compliment, uses 2 5881(6L6s), 2 6SN7s, 1 5V4, all vintage USA tubes. It has the nice metal base JAN 6L6 RCA tubes which can be substituted for the 5881s. It sounds very nice, smooth, detailed, dynamic, extended, open, natural and very musical. It has a balance pot to balance power tubes. It has had the jumper installed so when it is plugged into the wall it does power on. It has very heavy duty superb quality potted transformers.
