Late 1960s/early 70s Univox short scale bass. Has been cleaned, repaired and set up by Twin House music. I love the single humbucker and hollow-body construction. Creates a surprisingly beefy tone – given that it only weighs 7 pounds (according to my amateur scale). Neck is a chunky C shape measuring .9 inches at 1st fret and 1.08 inches at 12th fret.
This is not a closet beauty. This is a players bass that has been wailed on and it shows. This bass holds a tune well and Twin House got the electronics working flawlessly again. A few things to note about the cosmetic condition (functions incredibly): knobs are not original, jack and jack plate replaced, headstock binding, no bridge cover (ashtray), no pickguard, A-string tuner replaced with similar-era tuning head (wrong color, but hey, this is ultra rare).
Excellent for a variety of styles and players. Really! A bunch of friends have played this and love the thing. Priced below cost of guitar + repairs. This is a lovely thing that deserves a proper home. Selling bass only. Reasonable offers considered.
