About This Listing

This old ukulele seems to have been little used. No seams are separated or loose, the neck shows no signs of wear, and the instrument shows very few signs of use. A small section of the white painted-on "binding" on the lower bout is scratched, and the tip of the headstock has a small bruise. Otherwise, the finish is rather unblemished. It plays well with a low action, and is surprisingly loud for such a small instrument.

The plastic fretboard/frets and the asymmetrical Art Deco friction tuners are just too cool.

The case is in unusually good condition for its age. The red felt interior is missing three pieces of red tape that were covering the latch, hinge, and handle attachments and the bottom seam (two remain); the headstock end has suffered the loss of a small piece of black plastic covering (see photo). Other than that, the case is beautiful to look at and perfectly functional. Hinges, latches and handle are secure and working, although the black plastic handle has a scratch on it.

It has been stored in my smoke- and pet-free home for decades. It smells fresh.

I have priced this ukulele close to other similar instruments without a case, and I offer free shipping. Thanks for looking!

Product Overview
The vintage Harmony Soprano Ukulele captures the '50s fixation with the Hawaiian sound with features like a sleek yet resonant maple body and neck, wide body headstock, and durable Bakelite fretboard. As much a collector's item as it is an immensely fun model to play, Harmony's ukuleles of yesteryear look good hanging up on a wall or being strummed beachside.
