Awesome, rare, vintage NMI Nashville Musical Instrument Co black label model *50D? (part of label is torn & cannot find exactly which model it is). Amazing Martin dreadnaught copy from the 70's. Been on the fence about selling this, as it is an amazing guitar, but I've decided to let her go.
25.4" scale, Rosewood fingerboard & bridge, Mahogany back, sides & neck (even has the Martin style diamond carve at the volute). Appears to be a cedar top, but I'm not completely sure (could just be aging of the wood and finish). There is definitely some chatoyance in the top behind the bridge(surprisingly), but difficult to photograph. This guitar plays and sounds amazing!
Seems to be original factory height set up specs, so the action could be lowered some, but it feels good as is and I'll let the buyer dial it in. No buzzing on the frets, but there are some divots/wear in the cowboy chord area. Truss rod functions properly and neck angle is good, neck also has optimal relief. Bone nut ( minor chip in top of nut between D&G string, but does not cause any issue),bone saddle, pearl fingerboard & side dot inlays, as well as pearl dots in bridge pins. Tuning keys are smooth and work great. Black multiply binding on top and black on back with center strip. Extremely clean for something of it's age, just minor scratches, knicks, etc. (see photos)
**Most of the better known labels for these guitars are beige and not black. I have seen another black label example online, but cannot find it currently. I have however found an example of the Guild copies they made with a label with the same font, which according to this link, predates the beige label. I've included a photo of those labels.***
