Epiphone Japan Imperial Series HR-1 Howard Roberts 1991

Nice one piece mahogany neck w/slotted block inlays, all gold hardware, slim Epiphone headstock with Grover style tuners, and has the unique Gibson ES-175 type tailpiece and 2 vintage knobs.

A wonderful Guitar with a fat jazz sound plugged in, is acoustically very loud, with the notes ringing out loud and clear. And has a warm resonant woody sound.

Product Features

  • Figured Maple Body with a rich Mahogany finish
  • Single Floating Gold Mini-humbucker Pickup.
  • Multiply Bound Rosewood Fingerboard with Medium Frets and Slotted Mother of Pearl Inlays... 24.75 Scale length and 1 11/16 Bone Nut, D profiled maple neck
  • Comfortable 16 inch body
  • Made in Japan, Fujigen plant, 1984 (serial no. JV65439)
  • Three tone sunburst (Polyurethane)
  • Body of sen ash (japanese native tree)
  • Weight: 3.350kg
  • Neck: maple with rosewood board, 7.25" radius, 25.5" scale, remarkable shape: the frets are original in great shape and are barely worn(Please study the photos in detail). there's rarely few dings on the body and no modification except for the replacement of Plastic stuffs like Pickguard, PU covers and nobs. The wood selected for the neck is prime like Fullerton's. The shape is seemingly modern C and arrow-straight and superbe resonant.

The guitar was part of the "Imperial Series" which was a line of somewhat higher-end guitars made in Japan between 1992 and 1993. The line also included Emperor and J-45 and SJ acoustic models. The line was made at the Fujigen Gakki factory which until recently made the solid-bodied Elitist models (and why I think the alpha character in that serial number should actually be an "F" and not an "E")

Manufactured in Japan with faithful vintage specs and high quality, it is now one of the rarest Epiphone model with a considerable premiere.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any further information.

Thanks for looking.
