The Moreno Model 157 Gypsy jazz guitar is a handcrafted instrument made by French luthier Moreno. It's known for its warm, rich tone and its playability. Posted below is a YouTube video, this guitar has been used by Rob Swift of Swift Lessons for multiple video demonstrations.
For future proof reasons, I would recommend heat treating a very slight bow in the neck. Currently it’s very playable, but as time goes on it may need intervention. Considering these are guitars aren’t built with truss rods. This guitar has a headstock break and repair that was done professionally by acclaimed luthier Frank Finnochio. It has a spruce top, rosewood back and sides, and an ebony fingerboard. The guitar has a 25.5" scale length and a 14" body width.
The Model 157 is a popular choice for Gypsy jazz guitarists, and it's been used by some of the genre's biggest names, including Django Reinhardt and Angelo Debarre.
Here are some of the things that people like about the Moreno Model 157:
• Warm, rich tone: The spruce top and rosewood back and sides give the guitar a warm, rich tone that's perfect for Gypsy jazz.
• Playability: The Model 157 is a very playable guitar, with a comfortable neck and a fast action.
• Craftsmanship: Moreno guitars are known for their high quality craftsmanship, and the Model 157 is no exception.
This guitar does not come with a case currently but upon request I can accommodate a case for an additional charge, either way I will very carefully and diligently pack and ship this guitar.
