This bass was purchased Brand New from Guitar-Place in Aschaffenburg, Germany.

Now residing in Perth, remains unused and stored in a temperature controlled room.

The Precision Bass ("P-Bass" for short), released by Fender in 1951, is one of the most important milestones in the development of electrical musical instruments. In previous years, bassists had to carry heavy and unwieldy double basses and also had difficulty asserting themselves in terms of volume. The P-Bass, in combination with an amplifier, now gave bassists the opportunity to be heard clearly and distinctly within the band structure. This is how the P-Bass became a bass legend in the 50s, who had a decisive influence on the Rock'n Roll sound of the 50s.

Guitar-Place decided to pay tribute to the legendary 1955 P-Bass with a specially assembled "Dealer Select" instrument from the Fender Custom Shop. Guitar-Place has thought long and hard about the compilation of the specs for the 1955 P-Bass. Without question, nothing else than the classic 50s "Butterscotch Blonde" finish for the 1955 P-Bass reissue should come along! This is exactly how you've seen this bass in countless old Rock'n Roll movies, so it had to be "Butterscotch Blonde". And to complete the image of a much played instrument the finish was given a subtle Relic-Aging in the Fender Custom Shop. Not only does it look really good, it also looks very authentic. The Fender Custom Shop luthiers used only the very best materials to build this 1955 P-Bass reissue. The 1955 P-Bass reissue features an ultra-light ash body, a comfortable Soft "V" maple neck with maple fingerboard and a Custom Shop handwound '55 Precision Bass pickup. These fine ingredients ensure an extremely pleasant playing feel and a classic P-bass sound with lots of dynamics and punch, which fits not only for Rock'n Roll, but also in nearly all music styles.
