Vintage 1967 Martin D28 Brazilian Rosewood acoustic guitar w/ OHSC
The Martin D28 acoustic guitar is the standard by which all other acoustic guitars are judged. Featuring Martin's renowned warm and full-bodied acoustic sound, the D28 also features timeless appointments. This 1967 model D28 is constructed with an Adirondack spruce top paired with highly sought-after Brazilian rosewood back and sides for the ultimate in rich tone.
We acquired this D28 from the original purchaser, and have the original 1967 receipt as part of the package. Overall, this guitar is in excellent condition. There are some light henpecks in the body as well as a couple of light scuffs, but far less than one would expect from a guitar of this vintage. There is no finish checking in the gloss. The neck joint is very tight with no signs of pulling. Fretwear is extremely minimal. The bridge has been replaced with a custom ebony replacement handmade by our luthier, but the original is included in the case. In addition, a crack in the back was also repaired by this same luthier, but the repair is almost invisible. This crack is about 5 inches long, and was a clean break along the grain. It was repaired without needing any cleats or additional reinforcement.
This D28 includes the original hardshell case, which is in equally excellent condition with some minor exterior scuffing. This D28 has a serial number of 221673.
