This beaut of an amp was recently serviced and gone-through (as well as 3-pronged) by Mr. Winfield Holt of Speaking Volumes up in Burlington, VT. It's in good order and running as it should. Premiers of all sorts are generally on the rarer side and '40s amps like this guy are pretty hard to get ahold of these days. They're thus getting to be pretty pricey.

The Model 66 was, apparently, the first amp to have onboard tremolo. It's a very basic trem (set at one speed setting and its control is basically just a depth control -- allowing you to have more or less of it) and it sounds almost "vibes-y" when it's dialed-in thick.

Its sound is overall mids-humped and it has relaxed highs which give it a definitely retro voicing. It's not a loud amp by any means and would be best put into use for recording, small jams when mixed with acoustic instruments, and mic'd up for use on a quieter stage. It's lightweight so it's easy to carry around, too.

Its condition is not perfect, however, though it's certainly in good order for an older amp. The back panel is missing (which is OK -- this way it won't overhea -- a plus), and there are scuffs and scratches throughout the covering. The control panel (which has a lucite front plate) looks glorious and all of the graphic elements are in excellent shape.
