Brian Moore Custom Guitars #398, this guitar was USA manufactured around the 1994-96 timeframe as it is a lower serial #, this guitar was purchased a few years ago from the estate of a guitar player and collector who bought the guitar new according to the family. Brian Moore worked with Ned Steinberger previous and had experience with Steinberger, building guitars with the same graphite carbon fiber composite material used in building the Steinberger Guitar bodies. Brian Moore and Patrick Cummings started Brian Moore Guitars in the early 90's and the MC/1 was their top of the line professional guitar. The MC/1 advertised in the mid/late 90's as having the "comfort contoured body", was a expensive high end custom made professional guitar which was not mass produced. This MC 1 guitar is basically a carbon fiber neck thru Super Strat on steroids, a 24 fret guitar designed and purpose built for mass shredding. The body and neck thru is a one piece graphite carbon fiber composite material, 24 frets with 25.5 scale and the arched top is figured quilted maple wood with beautiful binding. The first 2-3 frets needed some minor redressing, and I paid a local luthier to address this and the 24 frets are all in excellent condition now. This MC/1 guitar also comes with the pictured strap lock buttons which were on this guitar when I purchased it. The PUPS are Seymour Duncan humbuckers, with 2 metal chrome volume and tone knobs with a 5 way PUP selector switch. The neck finger board is ebony wood with pearl dot inlays and I believe the nut is graphite, and the tremolo bridge is a Wilkinson with Sperzel locking tuners both in silver finish. This guitar has an awesome resonant tone similar to the composite body headless Steinberger neck thru guitars from the 80's. The guitar was set up for fast low action and neck relief checked as well, which is not needed as often with these sturdy graphite carbon fiber composite body MC/1 guitars. The intonation was set proper as well and this axe is ready, for shredding and plays and sounds super with no issues. The bound neck has the sculptured headstock and the unusual 4/2 tuner arrangement, similar to the Music Man John Petrucci guitars. Brian Moore signed the back of the headstock on all the higher end MC/ 1 guitars as far as I know. This is a beautiful guitar and it was very hard to try to photograph the arched figured maple top, without hotspots and light reflection in the finish of the guitar. This MC/1 guitar does have some very light scuffing and some slight scratches here and there, I pictured the most notable one on back of the guitar near the truss rod. There are a couple very small very slight dings here and there too but overall this guitar, is a beautiful 20+ year old very nice condition guitar that was obviously well cared for. This BM MC/1 guitar with the tremolo bar included will be well securely packed with bubble wrap, and or pack paper inside the HSC which is in excellent condition as well. This guitar in its HSC will be shipped in a sturdy U-line guitar box, with additional pack materials inside the box. Shipping through FedEx Ground insured for the declared value signature delivery required by Fed Ex.
