About This Listing

The crisp, warm response of a cedar top and resonant mahogany back and sides make this beautifully aged 1980 Yamaha G-231 Classical Guitar a go-to for students, performers, or studios looking for a worry-free instrument to deliver reliable, articulate nylon-string definition, take after take. Yamaha made the G-231 classical acoustic guitar from 1978-1980. The Yamaha G-231 is a much nicer guitar than the price implies. This guitar carries a tone that has a smooth rounded top end with lots of midrange and low-end resonance. The guitar is well-balanced, easy to play, and sounds amazing.
Yamaha has been making guitars for over a hundred years, and that experience shows in the quality of their instruments. This Yamaha G-231 looks and sounds like other guitars that cost thousands of dollars. If you're looking for a high-quality nylon string guitar that won't break the bank, this G-231 is the guitar for you.  NEW STRINGS! This guitar has a string relief of 1/16th of an inch at the first fret and 2/16th of an inch at the 12th fret (see final 2 photos of listing).
(PLEASE NOTE: if you watch the video, the person playing the guitar is not me, and the guitar is the same brand and model, but NOT THE EXACT SAME GUITAR offered in this listing. I did not make this video. This video is available for FREE on YouTube along with many other videos and is used here only as an example of what this model electric guitar sounds and looks like.)
·Gloss finish

·Mahogany back and sides

·Mahogany Neck

·Rosewood fretboard

·Slotted headstock

·Decorative 3-on-a-plate tuners

All of my guitars have been fully tested and are functional. All of my guitars have been “set up” (neck straightness optimized, fingerboard oil treated (if rosewood/laurel/ebony), action set as low as possible all to MY PERSONAL PREFERENCES. (Please note: “setups” are not “one size fits all”. Your personal set up requirements might be different from mine, so, additional adjustments may be needed to suit your setup preferences). Per Reverb.com requirements to protect the guitar from damage during shipping, the string tension will be relieved before shipment. You'll need to tune the guitar to pitch when it arrives. Let the instrument acclimate to your environment! Differences in altitude, temperature, and humidity from my shop to your location have an effect on the instrument. Additionally, vibrations caused during days in a truck being shipped to you might loosen screws and bolts! This is a perfectly NORMAL occurrence during shipping! It doesn’t mean your instrument is DAMAGED! Because of all these factors, you will NOT be able to pull this instrument out of the shipping box and start playing it! Also, for optimal sound and playing ease, I advise buyers to put a new set of strings on the guitar, the string brand and gauge of their preference.
