About This Listing

Yet another horn I bought as a kid in college 20some years ago while I was working in a woodwind repair shop, and I really thought I would rebuild it someday. Today I realized I never will, so I'll happy to give it away for barely more then the shipping cost.

This 1929 Buescher True Tone Alto would be beautiful if rebuild. The satin finish silver plating with burnished silver plating on the bell logo is really is great shape! The the body and tone holes are in miraculous shape. Bell is perfectly round and not bent or dented.

But here's the bad news - I took this horn apart 20ish years ago, threw the body, neck and keys in an old YAS23 case (didn't even remove the old pads which are definitely no good btw), but apparently did NOT put the screws and rods in the case. I CANNOT guarantee that all the keys are present, but I suspect that they are. But again, the screws and rods are not with the horn.

UPDATE - I had listed this originally as nickel plated, but was message by a published Saxophone authority who shared this -

“Hi John...Your alto is satin silver. Buescher only did nickel plating on special order as they said it wasn't in keeping with their quality.

This is the True-Tone alto we call series 4, about as good as they get. Amazingly versatile tonally if you get the right mouthpiece (some like to play sharp up top).”

Happy to meet in the South Jersey or Philadelphia areas for pick up, or will properly pack and ship to USA destinations for $100. International shipping would have to be calculated at time of purchase. Feel free to ask questions, I'm friendly :)
