MARC BENETEAU (CANADA) LUTHIER-BUILT CONCERT ACOUSTIC 1992

Beautiful handmade acoustic by one of the world's top luthiers.

If you are reading this you probably know that Marc's baseline start price for a guitar right now is over $7000.

Back in the 1990s he offered fewer variations specs-wise than he does now.

I have listed this as a Concert model but it actually falls between what he now offers as a 'Concert Standard' and his 'M' models. Which he describes as the perfect balance between a finger style and strumming guitar.

I'm certainly not going to disagree. This is the best acoustic I have ever played.

As you can read in his clarifying email (final image) I was puzzled by the discrepancy between the label date and the stamp on the heel block. He confirms this as a 1992 build.

You can see a lot of lacquer checking to the top and head particularly. As he also states, this is fairly typical and is purely superficial. It has no effect on the sound, the structure or the guitar's playability.

It's plainly visible from certain angles and almost invisible from others.

There are a few minor chips to the body lacquer, most visibly on the lower front. Please check the photos and if you have any questions, feel free to message us.

It was professionally set up a couple of years ago. The intonation and action still seem spot on to me, but I have travelled with it so I'm sure as well as restringing it to your taste, it would soar even higher following a new set up.

Or if you are close to St Thomas, Ontario you could even let the master tweak his own creation.

Overall this is one hell of a beautiful guitar from a brilliant luthier.

A Note On Shipping:

We want you to be fully satisfied with everything - from the item itself (naturally!) through the shipping, packaging, communication etc.

Of course there is nothing we can do about customs duty, local taxes etc at your end. But we can keep the overall price as competitive as is decently possible.

The Japan post office service (EMS) is reliable and efficient but shipping costs from Japan to Europe or the states are unavoidably expensive.

For this reason none of the shipping costs we quote reflect the actual price we have to pay. We are more than willing to take a hit on that to make things as attractive for you as possible.

Vintage Instruments & Equipment

Shipping by air plus climatic changes can affect how a guitar is set up - no matter how well it is packed. Consequently there is no guarantee that an instrument arrives with exactly the same set up as stated. After a period of acclimatisation, you may still need to make any adjustments at your own expense.
