The Rickenbacker 4000 is one of the most interesting basses ever. Very rare these days are many clean originals. This is a wonderful Fireglo finished example w/a maple neck-thru design w/nice maple body halves…dot inlays, unbound neck & body, 1 Horseshoe pickup w/mono electronics, large headstock w/walnut wings & the rarest item, its clear lucite thumb rest. Its white’gard is clean as are its tuners. It has extra screw holes hidden under the gard as seen in our pics. Its serial # plate is wearing its “GF” code that dates to June 1967 & its pots codes date to the 40th week of 1966. Lightweight at only 8 lbs. 13 oz. Overall she’s an exceptionally clean 100% original 4000 w/stunning looks & great playability & comes in a nice original Silver Tolex/Blue Lined hard case.
