About This Listing

5A QUILT TOP!

This is a stunning M2M Les Paul Standard '59 Reissue from 2020 for the Japanese market! As you’re likely aware, instruments destined for Japan are often crafted with premium lumber - and this one is no exception.

With many ‘59s available, this R9 is unique for its gorgeous 5A quilted top and “Trans Brown” finish. Its unique features include its 5A QUILT MAPLE TOP, TRANS BROWN FULL GLOSS finish, NO PRE-INSTALLED PICKGUARD, and WALNUT finish to the back/sides/neck (as opposed to the dark cherry found on most modern-day reissues).

The Trans Brown finish is reminescent of the color that Gibson has previously called “Root Beer”. As you’d expect from a top-of-the-line instrument, it features the usual historic appointments of a modern R9 including vintage-style tuners, ABR-1 bridge, historic Gibson MOP logo, CustomBucker pickups, long neck tennon, hide glue construction, and a comfortable ‘59 neck profile.

Nice ‘n’ quilty!

Condition is "Excellent". Shows some very light scratches throughout. There are 2 small impressions near the toggle switch. There is a deeper scratch on the treble side of the headstock. Includes case candy, COA, case, and hang tags pictured.
