Killer 1996 Orville SG '62 Reissue in very good to excellent cosmetic condition. This is a stellar guitar produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market. Orville is an official Gibson-licensed company - a partnership between Gibson USA and their Japanese distributor. Beautiful mahogany body and neck with a bound, dark rosewood fretboard and pearloid trapezoid inlays. Very comfortable to play with a slender '60s style C-shaped profile. Frets are in excellent condition as well. The heritage cherry finish shines bright and exhibits only a small amount of player's wear and a few dings mainly on the perimeter of the body. Guitar has the classic "open book" headstock too with mother of pearl crest and logo - a nice touch showing the quality of the instrument.
Under the hood you will find PAF-style pickups and a set of upgraded Vintage Spec pots with bumble bee capacitors to round out the electronics package. Pickup covers, tailpiece and bridge show some patina from age, giving this guitar an authentic vintage look. Kluson-style tuners look the part as well with their greenish tint buttons.
Guitar plays very well, sounds divine clean, and really opens up with overdriven tones. Versatility is achieved with its standard two volume, two tone layout. Feels great too weighing in at 6 lbs 6 oz! We will include a TKL hard case with sale and the guitar will be packed safely for shipping. Local pickup is available in Bethlehem PA.
