This guitar had been listed here on Reverb previously. The following is the description and specs as originally drafted by Diablo Resto Mod Shop:
"Gibson Diablo Resto Mod Shop Tremo-Explorer in Ebony Relic finish made in 1983 with Original Hard Shell Case.
This guitar features a solid mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with Custom Stinger Headstock and Custom Stained Flame Maple Truss Rod Cover. Upgraded with a set of Custom Black cover with aged bolts BareKnuckle Juggernaut humbuckers in the neck and bridge position. Controls reconfigured to 1-master volume knob, 1-master tone knob and a relocated 3-way toggle switch. The 24.75" scale length neck has pearloid dot inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets with a slim taper neck profile. The hardware is comprised/modded with a set of chrome Gibson sealed diecast tuning machines, a Floyd Rose locking nut with string tree, a Floyd Rose original double locking tremolo bridge with Fu-Tone Noiseless springs, top hat reflector knobs with a custom hand made stained flame maple over black pickguard, rear covers and jack plate.
This guitar has gone through our In-house Diablo Mod Shop treatment done by Ronnie Monk. This Vintage guitar Got a Resto Mod setup. The Guitar came to us as with a Floyd rose/floyd nut installed but not to our standards and some electronics as far as we were concerned didn’t fit the player of this type of guitar.
We opted to keep the factory ebony finish as it had cool natural checking throughout it already and that sought after worn in feel and why emulate when it’s real?! The Floyd Nut was previously rear mounted, Ronnie filled those ugly holes with wood, mounted it front style and added a metallic silver stinger to the rear of headstock. Next The electronics were reconfigured/relocated so you’re not reaching in opposite directions while playing anymore and a set of classic top hat reflectors with silver inserts to match the contrast of chrome and stinger. Of Course he selected a custom set of our Handwound Bareknuckle humbuckers to fit the build and player, black on black, aged accents and chunky high gain.
Finally a unique hand made pickguard and all matching cover set, engraved electronics cover, trem cover, truss rod cover, right down to the jack plate, Ronnie’s imagination came up with stained flame maple for this but he wanted something that would still take some abuse so he came up with veneering flame maple over black plastic, staining, then beveling the edges so you get some halo contrast of the natural /stained maple and black plastic.
This vintage resto mod guitar is in overall very good shape, as mentioned it has finish checking throughout the instrument, signs of moderate previous play, some dings dents and wear. Strap button was relocated and the rear hole is still there. (See pics)
