About This Listing

I am offering a Gibson EDS-1275 from 1994, the legendary double-neck SG model handmade in Nashville, Tennessee (USA), with a solid mahogany body, two set mahogany necks with slim 1960s style "C" neck profiles, bound rosewood fingerboards with elaborate split parallelogram pearl inlays, two super-hot HH pickup sets each consisting of a Gibson 490R humbucker at the neck and a Gibson 490T humbucker at the bridge, classic Gibson Deluxe vintage tuners with greened keystone buttons and two Gibson Nashville Tune-o-Matic bridges with claw tailpieces in a beautifully radiant cherry high-gloss nitrocellulose finish with black pickguards in an excellent collector's condition including original brown Gibson deluxe hardshell case, manufacturer's papers and professional setup with Ernie Ball strings.

Jimmy Page, Tom Morello, Slash - this guitar shaped rock music history like no other. The Doubleneck SG inspires by combining a 12-string guitar neck with a 6-string guitar neck on one guitar - the spectacular look and the unique sound have been indispensable since Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" and the instrument continues to inspire numerous musicians around the world to this day.

This Gibson EDS-1275, made in Nashville in 1994, combines all the features that have made the guitar what it is today: extremely precise workmanship, four warm-pressing 490R/490T humbucker pickups, fat split parallelogram pearl inlays in the bound rosewood fingerboards and a semi-transparent cherry high-gloss nitro finish, which allows a view of the grain of the solid mahogany body underneath. Rounded out with gleaming chrome/nickel hardware it is one of the most spectacular looking SG models Gibson has ever made.

The sound of the EDS-1275 has a dynamic range that is a joy to play. A 3-way switch can be used to select which neck is active, and a 3-way pickup selector switch controls the active pick configuration, with two volume and two tone controls to fine-tune the output signal. The resulting variety of tones in combination with the two different necks results in a veritable firework of playing and sound options from clean to rock to blues!

A sound video of the model can be found at the end of the photo gallery.

The two slim "C" neck profiles in '60s style, Rosewood fingerboards with 20 frets neatly bound in cream-white bindings and the double cutaway ensure pleasantly smooth playability right up to the highest registers.
