Here's a 1960 to early 1961 Fender 4x10 Brownface Concert Amp with its original oxblood grill cloth. This is a rare and amazing 40-Watt Combo example. It has the much desirable 6G12-A circuitry, which features a six tube preamp, achieving the highly sought after, and unique harmonic tremolo. It has been professionally serviced and drips with brownface tone. The tone of this amp most certainly fits between the tweeds and the blackface amps. This might be due to the fact that it uses the same output transformer as the tweed bassmans. The amp currently has period correct Jensen speakers but are unoriginal to this amp. In our opinion vintage speakers have much more to offer sonically than newer reissue speakers. This amp includes some hand-selected vintage RCA preamp tubes (7025/12ax7) and highly sought after short bottle 5881 GE tubes that are perfect for this amp. The amp produces sparkling and dynamic clean tones. When you start getting around 5 on the volume, you get incredible smooth Brownface overdrive. Not to mention the magical presence knob that helps you attain that "brownface bliss". Sounds incredible! This was just cleaned out and serviced. Works to perfection! The original handle is in perfect working order as it has been babied for a number of years. This will include the amp's cover. Will be carefully double boxed before shipping. I would highly encourage using a BrownBox or similar voltage reducer to protect this amp from the modern wall voltages. It truly preserves the tone and ensures the life of the components.
