HM 88 is part of the Hofner`s Master Built series of classical guitars. Guitars from this series are hand built in Germany by Hofner`s master luthiers. HM 88 has a solid and flat spruce top and rosewood back and sides. The top features satin finish and binding. Back and sides are finished in gloss. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and has a dovetail joint at the 12th fret. Ebony fingerboard features 19 frets without inlays, a classic guitar standard. The scale is 25-1/2" long and the string nut is 2" wide. The bridge on HM 88 is made of rosewood and has a standard classical shape Other features on this model include: gold plated hardware and classical tuning machines
