This Hiwatt Custom Hiwatt 50 SA112 is part of the private collection of Billie Joe Armstrong.
Founded in 1963 by Sound City engineer Dave Reeves, Hiwatt was one of the seminal British amp companies of the 60s and '70s. The '80s and '90s saw the company defunct until it was galvanized in the early 2000s by a new trademark owner. The SA212 is a compact 1x12 combo amp featuring a dual channel preamp, high and low inputs, and customizable output impedance. Features: separate channel volume controls, three-band EQ, two EL34 tubes, four ECC83 tubes.
This Hiwatt Custom 50 (Serial AM0524) Combo is an incredible sounding newer edition to the original Dave Reeves design. This amp sounds great. Full bodied clean headroom.
Volume section adds some excellent crunch that these Hiwatt’s are known for. A highly sought after tone. Tests and checks clean aside from a light crackle in the “Treble” and “Volume” knobs. This began to go away after further use.
Some very light tolex wear. We have done our best to capture any imperfections of this amp through our photography here on the site. Please enjoy.
