Pre-War Grover G-98 Tuner - Treble Tuning Machine
Working vintage condition. Patina left on to complete your restoration as you see fit. White button is original and intact. Listing for tuner only, does not include bushings or screws. "Grover" etched in very fine print -- no other markings. Wartime tuners were whatever was available, but plastic oval buttons were prevalent. Even the expensive D-28 Martins used tuners with plastic buttons during the war years. Note the riveted gear and the base plates that are not pointy (cut flat). G-98 model image from a 1935 Grossman catalog included for reference only.
These "clipped end" 6:1 ratio, beveled edge Grovers with no-seamed buttons were first used in the mid 1930s up until before the end of WWII.
For Tuner Treble Side. Used on many guitar brands including Martin, Gibson, Stromberg, Epiphone, National etc.
