Raven West Guitars S-Style Quilted Cherry Sunburst Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Raven West Guitars S-style electric guitar. The guitar has a stunning quilted Maple top with an orange burst finish. Very little is available by the way of specifications for this instrument, however Raven West Guitars appear to have gained a reputation for producing guitars which are superbly built and well equipped for a reasonable price. RWG reportedly have guitars manufactured in China, Indonesia and Korea and then set up in the USA ready to be distributed.

Heavily inspired by the Ibanez RG series, the guitar features a bolt on Maple neck, HSH pickup configuration and eye catching sharkfin inlays. An individual feature on this guitar is the distinctive Raven inlay which can be found on the 12th fret. Other features include Gold Wilkinson tuners, a gold licensed Floyd Rose tremolo and coil tapping capabilities.

The neck plays very well, having been carved into a slim profile perfect for quick lead playing. The satin finish feels exceptionally smooth underhand, as does the Rosewood fingerboard making for a slick playing experience. The 12” radius offers a perfect balance between comfortable chording and lead work with large string bends easily achievable.

A trio of pickups are installed in this guitar, with humbuckers in the neck and bridge and a single coil pickup in the middle. The humbuckers produce a high output which are most at home when in front of a high gain amp, with the middle pickup opening up a world of more delicate tones. In addition to this the tone pot allows for coil tapping, allowing thinner, single coil tones to be produced. A master volume and tone control allows for the perfect tone to be dialled in.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock:

Overall very good condition. Light scratching is present to the front face, only visible under direct light from certain angles. Light scuffing is present to the top edge of the headstock. All other aspects of the headstock present minimal signs of past use. 

Neck:

Overall very good condition. Light denting and scratching is present to the fingerboard, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This can not be felt under the finger in playing position. This is most noticeable to the higher register of the fingerboard. All other aspects of the fingerboard present minimal signs of past use. 

Body: 

Overall very good condition. Light scratching and denting is present to the front and rear face, only visible under direct light from certain angles. This is most noticeable to the treble side of the rear face at the waist. All other aspects of the body present minimal signs of past use. 

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform.
