Here is a Silvertone 1457 electric guitar with the Amp in Case that is in good condition and is ready to play. These super cool guitars and amps were produced in the '60s by Danelectro. They were originally designed to be student guitars but have become quite the collectors item over the years. These guitars feature a Masonite covered Pine body that has that '60s look. It comes loaded with a pair of lipstick style pickups. The guitar comes with a case that isn't your normal case. This case has an amplifier built in to it. The guitar is in Fair to Good condition. The case is in fair condition. However, the amplifier part is still working. The speaker has been changed. This is a very cool piece that definitely has that '60s vibe. Starting in the mid-'50s, most guitars bearing the Silvertone brand name were produced by Danelectro. Silvertone was the in-house brand of Sears and was marketed to beginner guitarists. In 1964, Silvertone distributed a two-pickup version of the earlier amp-in-case model as the 1457 (there was also a short-lived model 1449 with a different pickguard and finish). While the guitar was sold with an amp-in-case, many have survived without the amp intact. Having the amp case intact with the guitar is important for collectors.
