Beautiful Circa 87-88 (based on serial number) Kramer Ferrington Ivory Black Telecaster Style Acoustic Electric Guitar with added Fishman Pickup. No mods were done to the guitar. I unplugged the original output jack from the piezo pickup and installed a sound hole Fishman active pickup.

I wasn’t crazy about the sound of the original pickup but didn’t want to modify the guitar. The original pickup is a piezo pickup and doesn’t have much bottom end. Sounds more like a Telecaster electric than an acoustic. You can hear these on YouTube to see what I mean.

The Fishman pickup is simply attached to the sound hole by 2 screws that clamp on. No drilling done. The Fishman pickup sounds awesome. Like an acoustic guitar should. If you wanted you could simply unscrew it and put the original jack from the Piezo Pickup back in the hole. Voila, all original.

Beautiful condition. The white binding is fully intact all around the guitar. Some swirls in the black finish. One minor ding by the input jack and some superficial finish cracks around the input jack. I think every Kramer Ferrington I’ve seen has that. Factory strap locks. Frets in great shape, hardly any wear

Comes with a nice Road Runner padded gig bag I paid $99 for. It plays great with super low action, no fret buzz. The finish on the back of the neck is smooth and not worn. Nice high quality original tuners made in W Germany (indicating pre 1989). Stays in tune. My favorite thing about this guitar is the thin body. Great for playing live. Unlike a large bodied acoustic, feels more like an electric. Comfortable.

Rosewood fretboard with pearloid inlays. Very well taken care of. Angled 80’s heavy metal headstock. 2 string trees. These were very popular back in the day. Kramer is no longer around, though Gibson owns the name. 4 bolt neck. Serial Number FB4121. Says Neptune New Jersey USA on neck plate but they were all made in Korea.

Has Volume Bass and Treble Knobs for the piezo pickup. Even with bass full and treble all the way down it’s thin sounding. That’s why I added the Fishman. Best of both worlds. You could even drill a second jack hole for both pickups but I’ll leave that decision to the next owner. No volume or tone control for the Fishman pickup. all EQ and volume done by the amplifier. I ended up buying a Fender Highway Series acoustic electric that is thin bodied and has a Fishman pickup from the factory so I don’t play this one anymore. Everyone who saw this guitar loved it though. Own a cool original 80’s hybrid guitar and one of the first acoustic electrics made.

Sounds good not plugged in too, great guitar for the living room

See the attached YouTube link to hear it . It has the Fishman pickup hooked up currently. This pickup is powered by 2 button batteries, the Piezo is powered by a 9V battery (currently no battery attached to it)
