Ashbury Octave Mandolin 2023 - gloss

What we have here is a solid spruce top, laminate back and sides octave mandolin. This instrument has the Ashbury branding on it, but is not part of the Ashbury catalogue and has no model number. It is factory brand new, but has some cosmetic flaws shown in pictures above, including a chip in the finish on the neck near the finger board and some paint rubbed off on the headstock near the nut. I've also included a picture of the end of the fretboard near the sound hole just because I don't think it's very pretty, and you can see that it is a solid wood top by looking at the wood at the sound hole.

This octave mandolin is strung up for GDAE tuning with octave pairs on the G and the D. It has a pleasant, bright tone and is very playable. The 20 inch scale length makes it play like a Trinity College octave mandolin.
