Hello and thank you for looking at my 1995 ESP Flaming Skull in excellent like new condition (Serial Number 18959). I would call it mint, but there is the usual ESP neck screw corrosion, which is very minor (see pics), otherwise I would have called this mint! Take a look at the PICS, the finish is absolutely stunning! The paint looks a mile deep, especial in the back of the guitar pics! (the reflections are of my light fixture above the guitar)
See web site below if you want good information on ESP Serial Numbers!
5 DIGITS punched in the bolt plate(for the bolt on versions).NOTE: Follow this reference may not be accurate because probably they printed a certain number of plates and then put on guitars in a random manner, without noticing consecutive numeration. This is the reason why we can easily find guitars with the bolt plate referring to a year or two before or after respect the serial printed on the back of the headstock. To have an exact dating of this guitars you have to unscrew the neck and look at the date could be written below.1988 -

As for the Bad Ass-ness of this guitar, this work of art is off the hook cool and beautiful and HOT, and...!!! I have owned this work of art for over 20 years. She has been properly stored and occasionally admired whenever I just needed a fix!
The case is excellent with a couple very small nicks on the vinyl. The interior is clean with the tools and hang tag that has Serial Number 18959-09 (the 18959 is the serial number on the guitar neck plate). I believe that the "09" stands for the 9th out of the original 50 made from the late 80's through the 90's. PLEASE LET ME KNOW if there are some ESP historians out there that have other information - I will share verified information on this ad if I receive any. For over 20 years, I have read most stories and information I could find about this build and "this shows as # 09 according to the hang tag ".
Below is a great write up from you tube thanks to Diablo Guitars that covers a couple of newer Flaming Skulls made in 2008, and facts regarding the originals made in the last 80's through the 90's like mine:
This guitar was originally released sometime in the late 80s- 90’s and was limited to 50 guitars made. There have been 2 (including this one) made since which were both in 2008. The other of the 2 did not have the flaming fretboard and had mini skull & cross bones instead which was used as a display at the 2009 NAMM convention. This guitars body was designed by Jimmy Diresta and the paint job was done by Dan Lawrence. The body is made from alder and us carved into the shape of a screaming skull with carved flames shooting out through the back of the head. The flames continue across maple neck with ebony fretboard all the way to the headstock. The detail and color are amazing on this guitar! The guitar has a single Seymour Duncan JB humbucker in the bridge position controlled by a master volume control, a Floyd Rose tremolo system with locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines. The neck is a standard 25.5” scale length with a thin U neck profile, and a 12” fingerboard radius on a flame painted maple neck with 22 extra jumbo frets. The neck is straight with a slight relief and low action. All Adjustments work as designed. The Electrics are PERFECT, and scream in my Blk Face Princeton Reverb!!
Again, thanks for taking time to check out my Flaming Skull. It can be yours! Make me an offer!
