Super rare top of the range Pilgrim acoustic built by Paul Tebbutt of Fidlers Green Music, Leicester In 1982 for my friend who was his employee. Pilgrim guitars were built by Paul from the late ‘70s until 1985 when a factory production line was established Until the end of the ‘80s. Production then stopped until JHS started producing them under the Vintage Pilgrim name. I bought the guitar off him in 1985. It has only had light use as I’m mainly an electric player but it does feature on 2 songs recorded at Maida Vale studio for a session we did for the Friday Rock Show in 1986.
Sound and playability is excellent. It is brighter and more detailed than an Ovation with good projection.
There is some crazing to the finish which does not extend into the top wood and gives it a relic look.
The pick-up is under the bridge and does require an outboard pedal or preamp to make the most of it. I use a Zoom 504 11.
Comes in its original Hiscox case.
I’m only selling because I don't play it much anymore as I’m a 12 string strummer when playing acoustic.
