Each Fano Oltre series guitar is handbuilt in the USA using an old-growth North American Alder body, maple neck and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The result is a resonant, lively instrument crafted with care and precision. This series allows for a number of customizations, from color to pickguard, knobs to pickups. Models can be built with either a maple or rosewood fretboard to meet the needs of a variety of players. If this isn’t the exact Fano you are looking for, contact us to spec one out precisely to your liking!

What Do We Think

The Lollar Special T in the bridge is good and rude. It has a chewy low end supporting some crisp trebles. The pickup tapers off naturally before the top end becomes strident. So when we say it sounds a bit nasty, we mean it in the best way possible. It handles drives exceptionally well.

The Staple P-90 in the neck is one of our favorite pickups. It is woody but clear. The note blooms behind the attack, with an initial compression that “lets go” of the note and breathes on the back end. In the combined position, the pickups become incredibly expansive and open across the full frequency spectrum.

How Does It Play

The string action hovers right around 4/64” at the 12th fret without buzz, low but with enough room to let you dig under those string bends. The late ‘50s roundback neck profile is full but comfortable. It starts out with a moderate depth at the 1st fret and has an even taper to its full thickness at the 12th. The finish is sanded down smooth on the back of the neck for an instantly broken in feeling.

Product Overview
Bringing together classic elements like a maple bolt-on neck with rosewood fingerboard, a powerful T-style bridge and P-90 neck pickup configuration, and a company-licensed TOM/stoptail bridge, the Fano Standard SP6 Electric Guitar is the spiritual heir to decades of classic rock tones. Capable of summoning everything from a dirty blues grit to a creamy sustained punch, this instrument is as much a visual as a sonic hybrid with design components resonant of Telecasters and Les Paul Juniors. Whether you're interested in hammering out 12-bar blues, classic rock, or even chugging punk tunes, the Standard SP6 is a jack of all trades with a look (and sound) all its own.
