Yamaha Dynamic Guitar No.S-70- Small bodied parlor sized acoustic made by Yamaha at the Nippon Gakki factory solid spruce top with underlay laminate (smiliar to FG-180) strung as classical but these are also supposed to accept steel strings to be played as folk guitars.
The Yamaha Dynamic guitar basically classical guitar with steel strings, was in the market 50 years ago prior to the today’s steel string acoustic guitars.
The Dynamic guitar had pegbox type winding that of the classical guitar. Character of the Dynamic guitars were its big volume sound for having steel strings instead of the nylon strings. The acoustic guitars came close to the today’s form by changing the body shape and depth to have bigger volume on later days.
These "Dynamic" guitars built by Yamaha in the '60s were some of their earliest and have a really nice quality, feel and tone. What makes these solid top dynamic models special is that although shaped like a classical guitar, they are designed for being played with steel strings as well with metal posts in the slotted headstock.
Some Dynamic guitar models can be found around, such as the S50 and S70, but this white label "No.S-70" is not easy to come by!
This particular guitar does have a cut in the headstock where the name should be (see photos), otherwise this guitar is in all-original fantastic condition for its age with no cracks and just an expected amount of scratches and marks from age and use. Plays very comfortably and sounds LOUD
