Fender '63 Vibroverb Reissue Amp- Brown 1993

The 90s brought quite a few cool Fender reissue amps, including this rendition of the rare and desirable '63 Vibroverb.  The original model was made for less than a year, but captured the hearts of many a vintage amp enthusiast.

The configuration is pretty much perfect for the performing musician with two, 10" speakers, 40 watts, reverb and tremolo.  It weights in reasonably for better portability compared to other amps that move enough air to fill a stage.

There is a lot of forum discussion on this amp.  The consensus is that it is a great sounding amp, but that the original speakers were terrible.  This one has been loaded with two Eminence replacements: a Ragin Cajun and a Copperhead.  This is a brilliant combo.  Using two different speakers is sharp - mic em both on stage or in the stufio and blend the characteristics of each.  

Another discussion point on these amps is that they are a bit noisy.  That is the case - there is an audible noise floor at idle.  This can be remedied with mods that are very well depicted online, but it also just isn't as bad as the forum dwellers say - the amp is perfectly useable as-is.

This amp has seen some use.  The brown tolex has faded some, the grille has a couple holes.  Check the pics for details.

An expensive transformer upgrade was performed on the amp.  Mercury Magnetics power, output and choke transformers are there in place of the originals.

It comes with a cover as well, though it was not original to the amp.

We tested all the tubes and replaced one preamp tube as it tested as worn - the Groove Tubes preamp tube pictured in the listing..
