RARE 2008 D'Aquisto DA-TD Teardrop Acoustic Archtop Guitar w/Case
by Aria's High-End Terada Factory -- an excellent copy of the original D'Aquisto Design

Up for consideration is a 2008 Aria-made D'Aquisto Archtop Guitar with original case. This guitar is a nicely Tereada-made MIJ copy of the famous D'Aquisto 'Teardrop' design. The guitar is quite striking because of the teardrop body design, but there is something else going on here as well, as this guitar has the most sustain of any archtop I have ever played. Most archtops are known for sharp attack and not much sustain, but this guitar has endless sustain -- much like a solid body electric. I have no clue what is causing this, but it is probably the design synergy of the unusual multi-sound hole layout, ebony bridge design, X-Bracing, and the D'Aquisto tailpiece -- leading me to believe that this guitar is not only designed for the visual aesthetics, but it actually functions as a quite surprising sustain machine. Of course, the visual design are also jaw-dropping -- a rare instance where a unique visual guitar design actually improves upon the traditional archtop sound.

The guitar is in Very Good condition, with a few minor scratches, including a small ding to the bass side upper bout. The guitar plays great and really sounds amazing. This is the kind of guitar that once you start playing it, you can't put it down. You will even quickly forget that you are paying a unique teardrop guitar, because the sound and sustain takes over and swiftly carries you away.

Another interesting trend about these Aria / D'Aquisto Teardrop guitars is that have actually appreciated in value since they were discontinued about 10 years ago. I believe they finally became recognized by pro players as excellent-sounding guitars, and of course, the licensed D'Aquisto teardrop design is legendary. Comes with the D'Aquisto hinged pickguard, and original hardshell case.
