Power is nothing without control, and with the Seymour Duncan Nazgul - Sentient pickup set you'll have total control over your dynamics; from intense chug to sensitive clean passages. The Sentient neck pickup is a high output Alnico 5 humbucker that is capable of both exceptional clean articulation, but retains it's composure under high gain situations. It's far from just a "metal" pickup and through Duncan's Shop Floor Custom program you can get it built is a variety of bobbins and covers. We really like this pickup, and think of it as a Duncan '59 that went to the gym.

The Nazgul (a term that refers back to J.R.R. Tolkiens The Lord of the Rings) uses a ceramic magnet for increased efficiency, note separation and super tight response. It will drive your amp or pedal into a frenzy, but your right hand will always be in control of the action (unless you are a lefty). Metal and Progressive styles are not just about volume but also dynamics, and the Nazgul - Sentient pickup set has the capability to both whisper and scream.

Great for Metal and Hard Rock, but this set has become a shop favorite for those who also want big clean articulate tones that can rock out at the flick of a switch.

In the words of Seymour Duncan....

Take your guitar to the center of the earth with the Nazgûl and Sentient high output passive humbucker pickups. The Nazgûl combines a large ceramic magnet with custom winding specs. The result is a perfect blend of note articulation, saturation, pick attack, and one of the most brutal chugs you’ll ever hear from a humbucker. It has incredible harmonic content across all frequency ranges, and an insanely tight bass response. The Nazgûl has a seriously aggressive high gain sound that is lively, yet completely controllable.

The Sentient neck delivers a balanced, versatile tone that fits right between our iconic ’59 and Jazz model neck pickups. You’ll get pristine cleans, and fluid leads under high gain. The Sentient is a very articulate vintage output pickup with great dynamic response and a wide harmonic range. It works great for low tunings in all humbucker-equipped guitars.
