ERICA SYNTHS BLACK RING-XFADE
The Erica Synths Black series Ring-Xfade is a combination dual ring modulator and crossfader, capable of a wide range of amplitude and waveshaping behaviors. It features two ring modulator circuits, with both a carrier and modulator input with an attenuator for the modulators. Unlike a traditional ring modulator, the Ring-Xfade will pass signals present at the carrier input to the output, even without a modulator present at the CV input. Select between AC or DC coupling, traditionally for audio and CV respectively.
The two resulting ring modded signals pass through normalization to the inputs of the crossfader. Crossfade between the two channels either manually or under voltage control. The crossfader also works with external signals, allowing the two sections to work independently or in tandem. After the crossfader, the signal passes into a final VCA stage, with a CV input for another element of amplitude shaping. This VCA works with both 0-10V unipolar or +/-5V bipolar modulation signals. The Black Ring-Xfade offers a unique amplitude and shaping architecture to achieve a plethora of dynamic and unique results.
