Here's a budget friendly DG style Black Strat with noise and hum free active pickups!

This is a Squier Standard Stratocaster body that has been given an economy Gilmour makeover. The neck and tuners are new with light relic ageing to better match the body. The body is in good, natural player relic condition over all and does have several scratches and scuffs but there are no serious dings, chips or finish checks at the usual points around the neck pocket. This is a standard 1-3/4" thickness Agathis body. It is fitted with original Chrome hardware with an upgraded genuine Fender big block vintage tremolo with shortened 4.25" Gilmour spec arm.

The pickups are a new set of active GFS Red Line singlecoils which are a nice lower cost alternative to the signature EMG DG20 setup we put in our Gilmour Fender Red Strats. Although this set does not have the same active preamp tone controls as the DG20, it does give very similar sound free from the typical hiss and hum associated with standard singlecoil pickups.

The electronics consist of an Oak Grigsby 5 way switch, Alpha 25K master Volume and Tone pots with a CTS Blender pot in the lower Tone position for getting the Bridge/Neck combination. We replaced the bottom tone pot with a blender pot in place of the mini-toggle for adding the neck pickup to switch positions 1&2 as it provides more tone options and is easier to use than the mini-toggle setup on Gilmour's Black Strat. This allows you to blend in the bridge pickup to positions 4&5 in addition to blending neck pickup to positions 1&2. And you can add as much as you want as opposed to the all or nothing of a mini-toggle. When this pot is turned up to 10, it is true bypass and your 5-way switch functions as normal. The middle tone knob gives tone control for all 3 pickups. These are all mounted to a standard black pickguard. The pickups have built in preamps that have 3 microswitches each for tone and output options and are powered by a 9V battery located in the control cavity directly beneath the Tone knobs. We have set the switches for best tone and balanced output for this guitar.

The neck is an unbranded aftermarket Strat style neck made of 1 piece Canadian Maple and has 21 jumbo frets, 9.5" fretboard radius, medium C rear profile, heel adjust dual action trussrod and a lightly relic'd vintage amber satin nitro finish. The frets have been leveled, crowned and polished and it is fitted with new Fender vintage tuners.

The guitar weighs 7.5 lbs and is strung with GHS Boomers David Gilmour 10-48 gauge strings with the bridge setup floating . It's a great sounding and playing guitar to get your Gilmour on without taking out a loan. 😏

Will ship standard ground with a signature required for delivery. Please see our other listings for more cool custom guitars and quality parts including higher end Gilmour inspired Red, '54 #0001 and Black Strats!
