Dean Hollywood Z (baby) Mid 80's

This is a mid 1980's Dean Hollywood (baby) Z in excellent used condition as shown in photos. It was rebuilt, enhanced, upgraded and repainted. Comes with a form fitted Dean OHSC which was extremely hard to source.

It was a restoration project which aimed to get maximum tone, sustain and strength, while allowing better access to the 24th fret thus eliminating the original back neck plate, mate lapped neck to body, contoured the body at the neck heal area and was hide glued and screwed together with stainless steel screws.

The new Tusq nut was fitted and hide glued in place. Note that the hide glued parts can be removed with heat when necessary. Fingerboard and fret work was done which included sanding, polishing and refinishing for smooth playability, and to show off the rosewood!

The guitar was previously yellow after the factory blueburst finish. The paint was stripped down to wood to prove that it is indeed a basswood body, an early Dean standard and underwent hole plugging, fixing, filling, sanding, priming and sanding. There was a lot of sanding, priming, and re-sanding.

Original Dean parts: basswood body, one piece maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, humbucker pickups and rings.

Upgraded parts: Kahler style solid brass stud mount tremolo bridge, CTS 500k tone pots, standard size 3-way switch, Guyker tuners, TUSQ jumbo nut, Kahler string lock, fully shielded internal cavity for noise reduction.

Specs: 25.5" scale, 1.655" nut, 24 frets, 1 tone pot, 1 volume pot, gold/brass hardware all around, weighs 10 lbs
