About This Listing

Drumroll please! In on consignment is a custom built Scott Walker Phantom outfitted with a Zircote back/top, Flame Maple laminates, and a Purpleheart core. This guitar also features an HSS pickup configuration instead of the more common two pickup array. The build for this guitar took around 17 months and is all documented in a forum that we'll link below. It's such a cool thing to be able to scroll through and see this work of art being created. The model is inspired from Steve Cripe's original design for Jerry Garcia, which Scott Walker was able to borrow to pull measurements. This custom build also features the Jerry Garcia custom wiring and an "On Board Effects Loop". The inlay work was done by Jimmi Wingert- a well known master of the trade. (A link to their website is in the spec list below). It's pretty safe to say that this is a dream instrument for many and we are proud to be able have it in our shop while it awaits its new home!

This guitar is in excellent condition with only some minor pick marks in the usual spot. As for the rest of the instrument, it's set up with optimal action and plays like butter all over. No resistance whatsoever from this guitar. The frets look brand new, all electronics check great, and all points of adjustment are functioning as they should.

Lastly, the control cavity plate has also been signed by Bob Weir, Steve Kimock of Jazz is Dead, Kingfish, Ratdog and others,  and Barry Sless- guitarist of Kingfish and Phil Lesh & Friends.

If you have any questions at all regarding this guitar, feel free to call the shop, send us an email, or a message on Reverb!
