About This Listing

The bass has a bolt on maple neck with the older "paddle" head stock shape that accepts a replaceable truss rod which is an amazing insurance policy.  The fingerboard is wenge with the Warwick bell brass frets.

The body is a thin cut of ash and super light weight. The bass is very well balanced and hangs very nicely when played standing and the neck is super fast in your hands. This bass is very ergonomically friendly!

Electronics are Warwick's proprietary MEC with active two band EQ, volume and tone controls. The pickups are jazz style and placed closer to the bridge providing for nice aggressive tones as well as traditional tones. The bass sounds great and give you a lot of flexibility.

What makes this particular model unique to the Dolphin line is that it was made in Japan. I believe was Warwick's first import model.

In an effort to make a more affordable Dolphin Bass, Warwick developed this model which has more streamlined configuration. They produced about 200-300 of these in Germany and realized that in order to offer it at the lower price point they had in mind it would be best to  move production to Japan, and so they did. The model was made from 1991-1999 and was very successful.

There are a fair number of dings and wear on the body (pictured) but nothing that interferes with the feel and playability of the bass. Any questions just let me know. Best, Ryan
