1999 Yamaha Compass Series CPX8M Cedar Top Acoustic Electric Guitar Pro Setup New Strings Original Hard Shell Case

A really cool Yamaha Guitar...Made in the Kaohsiung Taiwan Factory, 1999 Yamaha Compass CPX8M Acoustic Electric Guitar with the original Hard Shell Case!

We got this guitar from a shop that had already set it up with awesome low playing action and new strings. The guitar has various dings and scratches, but no cracks or damage to speak to. It has one bang under the clear pickguard.

This cool guitar has really cool Solid Cedar Top and Mahogany back and sides. The fretboard is very dark and some have said its ebony. Could be or very dark Rosewood. The bridge is a beautiful piece of wood as well. See pic 4. Just a couple places of some hazing in the finish on the back from a little too much humidity. See pic 12.

The guitar has a fabulous Preamp System. I was impressed when I played it. It has not only a Piezo bridge pickup, but also a mic system in the sound hole on a gooseneck to place it in the best possible position for your style of playing. It sounds great. I also like the battery compartment separate from the Preamp. Easy to change batteries. See pic 9.

Acoustically, the cedar top gives this guitar a really nice warm tone. Not too dark but just right to accompany singers. Not too bright, or too dark. Just right!

The guitar plays great with awesome low action. Its a pleasure to play. We dated the guitar to 1999 from the Yamaha information stating that the Taiwan factory used the numerical system from 1971 thru 2001. The serial number on this guitar starts with a 9 so we determined it was a 1999. Made in January from the second digit.

Comes with the original Hard Shell case. Just as nice as the guitar. It has all the original latches, hinges and original handle. Even the accessory box it still with it. The nice Gray Plush interior is still very nice! Check those pics.
